Perry – Allow more guns in schools

The Gov told a TeaBagger gathering in North Richland Hills that Texas schools will be safer when school districts are given the ability to allow everyone who works at the schools to carry guns. The Gov stated “In the state of Texas, if you go through the process, have been trained, and you are a handgun-licensed individual, you should be able to carry a gun anywhere in the state.” Just be sure you don’t carry your licensed gun to the Capitol or you’ll be arrested. Can’t put legislators in danger.

Houston Federation of Teachers President Gayle Fallon said yesterday to a Houston TV Station that the idea of arming teachers was crazy.  “I knew this would come up at some point, there would be people who think the answer is to put guns on campus.   Frankly, I think it’s absurd.   In a lot of cases, the perpetrator is a kid. Look at Columbine, it was a 14-year-old kid.  You tell me a teacher is going to look in the eyes of a 14-year-old and pull the trigger — it’s not in their emotional make up.”

At the gathering The Gov said last week’s shootings at an elementary school in Connecticut was an evil act but insisted that new gun laws were not the answer. “We have to do everything we can to make sure those types of evils are restricted the best they can be. “One thing I hope I don’t see is knee-jerk reaction from Washington, where they come in and think they know the answers.”

So the problem was not because multiple guns were available but because of unspecified evil. Is the evil because the heathens are forsaken tithing 10 percent to a local Republican mouthpiece that no longer speaks of what Jesus would do but what we should do as good Republicans. Or is the evil the lack of mental health care or for that matter any type of health care for regular Texans?

Perry ‘I Would Do It Again’

Oh Boy, Oh Boy, Oh Boy. Looks like we’re in for more entertainment during the next presidential campaign. The Gov. said Monday that he does not regret his failed presidential campaign last year. Along with Uzbekistan Herman Cain, The Gov. made the campaign much more enjoyable with his gaffes, shaky debate performances and uhhh, I can’t remember which three.

Speaking to a Tea Bagger gathering in North Richland Hills, The Gov. said “It was an extraordinary experience, and looking back on it I would do it again.”

We can only hope that Herman Cain will get in on the fun with The Gov. for the 2016 race.

Perry Says ObamaCare Will Fail

Oh boy, now The Gov. says he thinks ObamaCare “may fail” in an interview with Forbes.

In the interview The Gov. says “Well, I’m not sure Obamacare is going to be successful.” His reasoning is that the exchanges are not going to work because the states don’t know what the rules are. He even predicted disaster if governors opt in to running the state-run health care exchanges.

So why is The Gov. so adamant not to set up a state-run health care exchange? Well first off he says that the states don’t have a say in the exchanges as the rules are mandated by Washington and any state instituted exchange has to be federally approved. He also claims that the federal government’s going to have to run the exchanges and they don’t have the know how or money to do it. The Gov. then says “I’m not holding my breath” that the government will block-grant money back to the states, which he sees as a solution.

Ok so now we have an idea into his reasoning. First off it was proposed by Obama but secondly and more importantly, Washington will not block-grant money to Texas and let him use it for any reason, say balancing the budget and allow him to further reduce business taxes.

To say no one knows what the rules are is a typical TeaBagger ploy to make it sound like Washington is shoving something down the throats of hard working Texans. Why not look up California’s plan. Simple enough and they are not whining like little girls.

Perry To Make Big Announcement Next July

The Gov. says “in July he will “make an announcement about my future political plans.” according to a tweet from the Rio Grande Guardian.

Talk about trying to build up the suspense.

In October, The Gov.’s chief mouthpiece, Ken Armbrister let out that The Gov. may run for a fourth term as Texas governor.

Grover Norquist, the Anti Tax Zealot, just expressed support for Perry as president. The Gov. opined last August to NBC News that he would “absolutely” consider another run for the White House”.

Seven Months? Man, how will we stand the suspense?

Perry For Obama Take Over?

Ok, let’s get this right.  Last week on Faux News, The Gov said. “We don’t trust this administration, and we don’t trust Washington, D.C. to be able to deliver health care in our state”.  One in four of us Texans are uninsured, the highest rate of any state in the Union.  Texas ranks 50th in per capita spending on it’s own citizens.  But Texas Tea Bagger politics and The Gov. will not implement the Affordable Care Act even though it benefits Texas.

The Tea Baggers hate giving anything to the lazy, mostly black, druggies and them damn  illegal aliens who would rather stay stoned all day chatting on the free IPhone’s Obama gave them while watching their Big Screen TV’s than actually work.  This misdirected hatred is so blinding, they can’t grasp the thought that the Medicaid expansion would greatly help almost half the population of Texas.

The Kaiser Family Foundation estimates that the Medicaid expansion under the ACA, ObamaCare, would cover 49.4 percent of uninsured Texans by 2019.  The program is broadened to cover Americans within 133 percent of the poverty line. In Texas the current the eligibility for a working Texan parent cuts off at 27 percent of the poverty line. Under the ACA, the federal government will cover the full cost of the first three years and pay 90 percent thereafter.  But the hatred of Obama is so strong these Tea Baggers will go to any lengths to oppose anything his administration does to try and help the working poor and middle class, even as most of these clowns that support The Gov. fall in these classes.  Classic case of cuttin’ off your nose to spite your face.

The Gov. continued on Faux News, stating “We’ve got some of the finest health care in the world, so the idea that this federal government, which doesn’t like Texas to begin with, to pick and choose and come up with some data and say somehow Texas has the worst health care system in the world is just fake and false on its face.”

Do these dupes even realize that in their zeal to oppose anything Obama proposes, they actually have given Obama control to come and implement everything they hate?

Secession From a Seccesionist State.

While writing the previous article we came across the petitions from El Paso and Austin requesting secession from Texas.  This brings up an interesting question.  If States, such as Texas, believe secession from the Union is acceptable, is secession of an entity (city) within the State is acceptable?

Texas is an amalgamation of peoples, just like the rest of the United States.  The peoples of cities like Austin and El Paso may not agree with the people in cities like Dallas and Houston.  Should they then be allowed to be separate?

Then smaller towns and counties may wish to be separate entities since they don’t agree with their neighboring counties.

Could the people wanting secession get their wish and not get what they actually wanted?

There is nothing in the official annexation papers, or in any other documents for that matter, that provides or agrees to a path to secession.  But and it is a big But.  In the 1845 Annexation Agreement is a provision stating that “new States, of convenient size, not exceeding four in number, in addition to said State of Texas, and having sufficient population, may hereafter, by the consent of said State, be formed out of the territory thereof, which shall be entitled to admission under the provisions of the federal constitution.”

Over the years the idea of separating into five states has been brought up, most recently by Tom Delay in 2009.  Each time it has been thought of as to gain a political advantage, eight more senators from one or the other party.

But in these contentious times would this benefit one party over the other as much as in the past?  In the past election the Republicans garnered 57% of the vote.  So if we get four new states, would two be republican dominated states while two democrat dominated states and one up for grabs?  Or would the powers that be gerrymander the states beyond recognition, much like current congressional district lines which would make it hard for kids to draw maps like they can now.   Would there be an actual election to decide what area of the current Texas each new State would take?  Would the Tea Baggers take a chance on the electorate giving three or possibly more States to the Enemy?  Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Secession Petition Mania

All this talk of secession and we can whup all them yankees in a couple of weeks, oh wait that was 1861, has social media awash with “I signed the Petition to Secede” comments and tons of Likes.

Now since the old boy in Arlington, Tx. has gotten so popular with his White House petition asking to let the state leave the U.S., along comes a fellar from El Paso with a petition asking the White House to let El Paso secede from Texas. WTF??????

Okay, he claims that El Paso has little in common with the rest of Texas and that it’s demographics are more similar to New Mexico. El Paso is also proud to be part of the United States and wants no part of a state whom publicly contemplates secession from our great nation.”

And then the plot thickens. Now an Austin resident has filed a White House petition asking that the city be allowed to secede from Texas.

This fellar writes that “Austin Texas continues to suffer difficulties stemming from the lack of civil, religious, and political freedoms imposed upon the city by less liberally minded Texans,” the petition explains. “It is entirely feasible for Austin to operate as its own state, within the United States, in the event that Texas is successful in the current bid to secede.

So now we have cities wanting to secede from the wacko’s who want to secede from the United States and operate as City States within the United States, kinda like Andorra or Monaco.

And what do these two cities have in common? Well, the Austin Petitioner writes that “It is important for Austin to remain in the union as to do so would protect it’s citizens standard of living and re-secure their rights and liberties in accordance with the original ideas and beliefs of our founding fathers.” The El Paso petitioner writes that “El Paso has little in common with the rest of Texas.”

Are the folks in Texas beginning to come to their senses? Probably way too soon to tell but in 4 more years???

Perry Not Supporting Secessionists This Time

The Gov., AKA Rick Perry, has not given up on his Presidential ambitions even after taking a drubbing during the Grand Old Party’s “Who Can Get Farthest To The Right” Primary Debates.  Prior to his run for the 2012 nomination, The Gov. gathering support, was vocal on occasion supporting the Tea Baggers call to Texas Secession.  Back in early 2009 The Gov. was a star of the Tea Baggers, telling them at a rally that secession might be a good idea.

Now that The Gov. can taste the possibility of winning the nomination in 2016, he has become sensible, ahem, and says he does not think secession is a good idea.  Reminds me of “Etch a Sketch Romney”.

The Dallas Morning News reported that when asked his office gave the following response

“Gov. Perry believes in the greatness of our Union and nothing should be done to change it. But he also shares the frustrations many Americans have with our federal government. Now more than ever our country needs strong leadership from states like Texas, that are making tough decisions to live within their means, keep taxes low and provide opportunities to job creators so their citizens can provide for their families and prosper. We cannot allow Washington’s tax and spend, one-size-fits-all mindset to jeopardize our children’s future, undermine our personal liberties and drive our nation down a dangerous path to greater dependence of government.”

I’m sure the Tea bagger partiers ain’t gonna be liking The Gov’s softer side.

Texas Republican Wants State To Secede

Oh boy, here we go again.  The Black Communist, Socialist, Nazi, Class Warfare Warrior, Barak Obama won the Presidency so the world is going to end as we know it.  And now comes along one Peter Morrison, Treasurer of the Hardin County Republican Party.  Mr Morrison called for Texas to secede from the United States and the “maggots” who reelected President Barack Obama.

Morrison wrote  “We must contest every single inch of ground and delay the baby-murdering, tax-raising socialists at every opportunity.  But in due time, the maggots will have eaten every morsel of  flesh off of the rotting corpse of the Republic, and therein lies our opportunity.  Texas was once its own country, and many Texans already think in nationalist terms about their state. We need to do everything possible to encourage a long-term shift in thinking on this issue.  Why should Vermont and Texas live under the same government?  Let each go her own way in peace,
sign a free trade agreement among the states and we can avoid this gut-wrenching spectacle every four years.”

Morrison went on to write that “many members of minority groups are simply racist against the party most white people happen to vote for.”

As we know the Grand Old Party controls every statewide official and has big majorities in both State Houses.  Both U.S. senators and 24 of 36 congressional seats are Republicans.  Facebook is awash in calls for secession and anti-Obama sentiment.  US Flags are being flown upside down. It will be interesting to see the natives get even more fired up.  They now have a new hero in Mr. Morrison.

Onward, Christian Soldiers, Marching As To War

Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war,
With the cross of Jesus going on before.
Christ, the royal Master, leads against the foe;
Forward into battle see His banners go!

Reverend Rick Scarborough is preparing  for his “40 Days to Save America” event, which is set to begin Sept. 28 and run through the election.   The Reverend is calling on his followers to pray and fast in order to to get God to intervene in the presidential race.

Now along comes The Gov. to get in on the action.  Earlier this week, The Gov. held a conference call with the evangelical leaders across the Bible Belt and shared his thoughts on the origins of the constitutionally mandated separation of church and state.

The Gov has a unique take on the issue.  “Satan runs across the world with his doubt and with his untruths and what have you and one of the untruths out there that is driven is that people of faith should not be involved in the public arena” Perry said during the call.

So, it was Satan and not the founders who brought about constitutional separation of church and state.  According to The Gov. the separation of religious and civic institutions in the U.S. began in the 60’s. The Gov. went on with
“Somehow or another there’s this, ya know, steel wall, this iron curtain or whatever you want to call it between the church and people of faith and this separation of church and state is just false on its face. We have a biblical responsibility to be involved in the public arena proclaiming God’s truth.”

Can’t wait for the throngs of evangelical christiains intoning the masses to get God to kick Obama out and put Mittens in….

Onward then, ye people, join our happy throng,
Blend with ours your voices in the triumph song.
Glory, laud, and honor unto Christ the King,
This through countless ages men and angels sing.
